We absolutely love all our rites of passage here at Park Lane Chapel — but especially a good wedding! And on the 23rd of this month, we were delighted to celebrate such an occasion with the wedding of Ryan and Keeley.

The chapel was filled with friends and family from Ashton and further afield as everyone gathered to witness and celebrate a love story that has been quietly growing for over two decades. The bride naturally looked a million dollars, and the groom looked equally dapper. Nerves, as you might expect, were certainly present… though after a few minutes I managed to regain my composure!

As Minister of this chapel, it is always a deep privilege to hold moments like these — occasions where two people publicly celebrate an invisible union of love, trust, friendship, and commitment in the presence of those who matter most to them.

I was kindly invited to the evening celebration and, naturally, I went along, sang for the happy couple, and was preparing to make my graceful exit when one of the guests got up to sing Losing My Religion — at which point I thought perhaps it was time for the minister to quietly disappear into the night!

We send Ryan and Keeley every blessing for the years ahead and remind everyone that Park Lane Chapel is always here for your special days — weddings, namings, funerals, and celebrations of life — and also every Sunday, come rain or shine.

All are welcome at the oldest non-conformist chapel in the area.
