Memorial Window

In 1925 it was decided by members of the Park Lane Chapel congregation to build an extension to the school, dedicated to the ten men who had given their lives in the Great War.

A marble tablet was excreted in the Memorial Room with the names of the fallen heroes:

• Harry Fletcher
• William E Bradshaw
• William Darbyshire
• John Brimelow
• James E Hughes
• Seymour Derbyshire
• William Murphy
• James Lomax
• William Yarwood
• Henry Melling

Some of these families are still associated with the Chapel.

At around the same, a stained-glass Memorial Window was commissioned and installed on the north side of the Chapel with all the ten men’s names depicted within a scroll.
