Ordination of Our Minister — Rev. Robert Dennis Foreman

On Saturday 29 November 2025, Many members of the congregation that were able to attend visited Padiham Nazareth Unitarian Chapel, Rev. Robs 'Sending Chapel' to celebrate the ordination of our minister, Rev. Robert Dennis Foreman, in a deeply meaningful service centred on The Great Commission viewed through the lens of Motherly Love.

The service was led by Rev. Ant Howe, Senior Tutor at Unitarian College and President of the Unitarian Ministerial Fellowship, who also brought greetings on behalf of the UMF. Greetings were further shared by Rev. Lynda Kane, representing the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland; Elfriede Sheikh, representing the Merseyside Unitarian Ministry Partnership; and Professor Geoff Levermore, representing the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches.

The sermon was delivered by Rev. Jim Corrigall, former minister of Nazareth Unitarian Chapel Padiham, whose words added special meaning and continuity to the occasion.

After the service, the congregation and guests enjoyed a buffet reception in the hall, marking the start of Rev. Foreman’s ministry with warmth, fellowship and celebration.

Rev. Robert Dennis Foreman will now serve as minister to:

  • Park Lane Unitarian Chapel, Bryn (Ashton-in-Makerfield)
  • Cairo Street Unitarian Chapel, Warrington
  • Matthew Henry Chapel, Chester Unitarians

We look forward to this next chapter in the life of our chapel with gratitude, excitement, and hope for the ministry ahead.
